Research and Exploration Projects are those where a concise specification is not yet possible due to various unknowns. This may be what circuitry we will use, what the sizes & packaging constraints will be, what communication protocols will be used. There is often significant work to be done before a development project can begin with a clear endpoint. This is the nature of research, but in solving these technical challenges we help our clients to differentiate their products. In this scenario we work closely with our clients on a time & materials basis. We meet frequently to report on progress and update near term goals.
Development Projects are those projects with a clear & concise specification and where the work is focused on implementation to that detailed spec. For these projects we can often work on a fixed budget basis. Work is typically performed in phases with customer meetings for design reviews and integration.
Many of our clients do not have a clear specification for their project needs. If possible we work with the client on an NRE basis to define that specification together. This front end work often resembles a small research project where we work closely with the customer on short iterations, with an end goal of writing a realizable product specification.

Facilities and Equipment
We generally work from our own facilities in Northborough, MA, and Naples, ME, but can easily be on-site in the northeast. We often travel to clients for on-site face to face engagement. Our labs include the following equipment:
- Complete electronics lab including oscilloscopes, power supplies, dynamic loads, and serial analyzers
- R&S UPD analyzer for analog/digital audio performance characterization and evaluation
- Development tools for Nordic, ARM, Atmel, PIC, SharC, BlackFin, processors
- Nearby Test Services facilities for in depth EMI/EMC/Safety validation
